FPSC photo size: JPEG under 30 KB
FPSC's online application guidelines ask for a passport-size photograph in JPEG format, less than 30 KB. Most phone photos are 2–5 MB, about a hundred times too big, so the upload fails until you shrink the photo.
| Format | JPEG (.jpg) |
|---|---|
| File size | Less than 30 KB |
| Type | Passport-size photograph |
| Shape READY uses | 300 × 386 px, the same shape as 35 × 45 mm |

Open FPSC photo toolHow to do it with READY
- Open the FPSC photo tool. The size and the 30 KB limit are already filled in.
- Choose your photo. A clear photo against a plain, light wall works best.
- Drag the frame so your whole head and the top of your shoulders are inside, then tap Use this.
- Tap Save. You get a JPEG under 30 KB, ready to upload.
Why uploads still fail
- The file is PNG or HEIC. FPSC wants JPEG. READY always saves JPEG for form photos.
- It's a screenshot of a photo. Screenshots are PNG and often blurry. Use the original photo.
- Wrong file chosen. After saving, upload the new file whose name ends in -300x386.jpg.
